Deadline for parallel enforcement of two editions of Iran building code Chapter 19
Iran's roads and urban development minister notified the interior minister that the fourth edition (1399) and fifth edition (1404) of Chapter 19 of the national building code may be enforced in parallel. Under the notification, reported on 3 August 2026, parallel enforcement runs from 10 January 2026 to 20 March 2027 (29 Esfand 1405), after which only the fifth edition governs design, supervision and construction. The notification states the deadline is final and cannot be extended.
