Deadline for Russian crypto exchange operators to join the state register

Under Russia's comprehensive cryptocurrency law signed on 4 August 2026, only organisations entered on a special state register may operate as crypto exchanges. Existing operators may keep working without registering until 1 July 2027, after which registration becomes mandatory. Registered exchanges must hold at least 15 million roubles of capital and join a financial self regulatory organisation (5 August 2026).
