The crypto market showed a limited reaction after the US Federal Reserve announced its interest rate decision on Wednesday, 29 July 2026. Bitcoin traded near $64,300 in the hours after the announcement, about one percent above its level 24 hours earlier.
The Fed held its policy rate in the 3.5 to 3.75 percent range, but the Committee's 9 to 3 vote, with three members dissenting in favour of a rate increase, gave the decision a more hawkish tone. Ahead of the meeting, futures markets had priced in roughly a 30 percent probability of a 25 basis point rate increase.
US dollar interest rates and American inflation expectations are among the main channels affecting demand for risk assets including cryptocurrencies. In Iran's market that variable is followed mainly through the prices of Tether and Bitcoin.
