Gold and Coin Prices in Tehran Rise for a Second Straight Day
22 August 2026 · 2 months ago
According to Donya-e-Eqtesad and Ecoiran (Saturday, August 22, 2026), gold and coin prices in the Tehran market rose for a second consecutive day. Per Sahmino's own price data, the Emami gold coin reached 204,510,000 tomans at 11:29 a.m. Tehran time, up 2.49 percent from Friday's (30 Mordad) price of 198,700,000 tomans; Donya-e-Eqtesad separately quoted today's Emami coin price at 204,500,000 tomans, consistent with Sahmino's figure. Eighteen-karat gold rose 3.32 percent over the same period to 20,512,000 tomans per gram.
Ecoiran described the increase as "sharp." The back-to-back gains in Tehran extend a rally in global spot gold, which traded above $4,500 an ounce on Friday and was on track for a third consecutive weekly gain, a move Ecoiran linked to the US Treasury's expanded debt buyback program and a weaker dollar.
