Pension Fund Chief: About 40% of Iranian Retirees Are Renters

The head of Iran's Civil Servants Pension Fund said on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (28 Mordad 1405), citing unofficial figures, that roughly 40 percent of the fund's retirees rent their homes and own no property. According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, he said the fund is studying a plan to build and offer affordable housing with priority given to retirees, aiming to ease some of the rent burden on this group.
