The Emami gold coin traded higher in Tehran on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, its price reached 230,500,000 tomans. Live data from TGJU at 11:24 local time showed the Emami coin up 0.43 percent, about 990,000 tomans, to 230,995,000 tomans, while its price premium eased to around 744,000 tomans. Half coins and quarter coins traded at roughly 116,000,000 and 61,500,000 tomans respectively over the same period. Sahmino's own tracked data recorded a similar 0.44 percent rise for the Emami coin at the same time.

Secondary trading of the central bank's coin forward securities, which launched on the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) on September 12, 2026 (21 Shahrivar 1405), reached 10.5 million units in its first two trading days, equal to 10,500 full Bahar Azadi gold coins worth 2.4 trillion tomans (24,000 billion rials), according to Kala Khabar, the IME's own news outlet. The new instrument lets holders of coin forward securities cash out or trade their holdings before maturity in the exchange's secondary market, shifting part of gold and coin market demand from the informal cash market onto the regulated exchange.

According to Donya e Eqtesad, each Emami coin traded lower at 237 million tomans; the half coin also fell to 121 million tomans, though the quarter coin rose to 63.5 million tomans. Central bank to launch Iran's first standard parallel salaf coin bonds via the commodity exchange tomorrow

Rahman Arasteh, director of the derivatives and new financial instruments market at the Iran Mercantile Exchange, described the details of the central bank's first standard parallel salaf coin bond offering in remarks to Radio Eqtesad's Rooye Khat Eqtesad program, carried by Kalanews on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 (17 Shahrivar 1405). He said the bonds will be offered on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 (18 Shahrivar), and will trade under an equity trading code. In the first phase, 100,000 full Bahar Azadi coins minted in 1386 (2007 to 2008) will be offered with a three month maturity. Individual investors and gold funds may participate; individuals face a purchase cap of 100 coins, while gold funds face no numerical limit. Arasteh said bondholders can take physical delivery of the coins at maturity or use a cash settlement mechanism, and the bonds can also be sold in the secondary market before maturity. The initial offering price will be set based on the last trading day's price of the gold coin deposit certificate on the Iran Mercantile Exchange.
