Household Appliance Inflation Hits 117.8 Percent Year on Year in Mordad, Far Outpacing the National Average
Sep 4, 2026
According to Khabaronline, citing Mehr News Agency, on Friday, 13 Shahrivar 1405 (September 4, 2026), a review of the latest inflation data for the month of Mordad 1405 (roughly late July to late August 2026) shows that while the national monthly inflation rate stood at 3.4 percent, the year on year (point to point) rate at 89 percent, and the annual rate at 69.9 percent, the household appliances category clearly outpaced the national average on all three measures, with monthly inflation of 4.7 percent, year on year inflation of 117.8 percent, and annual inflation of 79.3 percent.
Per the report, the 117.8 percent year on year figure means the cost of buying a comparable basket of appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, stoves and televisions has, on average, more than doubled in Mordad 1405 compared with Mordad 1404, a rate 28.8 percentage points above the national year on year figure. The continued monthly increase of nearly 5 percent also shows price pressure in this market persists and is not solely the result of past spikes.
