US CPI report - June 2026 data
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics released the June 2026 Consumer Price Index. Annual inflation eased to 3.5% (from 4.2% the prior month and below the 3.8% forecast), with the index down 0.4% on the month, largely on falling energy prices; core inflation (excluding food and energy) ran at 2.6% year over year and was flat on the month. The reading shapes Federal Reserve rate expectations and moves the dollar index and gold price, both key drivers of Iran's parallel FX and gold markets.
