German Firm Isar Aerospace Sends Europe's First Privately Built Rocket Into Orbit

Germany's Isar Aerospace said its 28 metre Spectrum rocket blasted off from the Andoya spaceport in Arctic Norway at 11:42pm Tehran time on Saturday, September 5, 2026 (20:12 GMT, 14 Shahrivar 1405), reaching an altitude of 100 kilometers in under four minutes. The company said the uncrewed rocket carried five satellites, which were successfully deployed in orbit, calling it the first time a privately developed rocket has reached space from Europe. Isar Aerospace signed a $230 million contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) in August to accelerate development of launch vehicles. ESA's director of space transportation, Geraldine Naja, described the milestone as the start of competition among European launch providers. According to Al Jazeera, the United States launched 198 rockets last year, compared with just eight launched by Europe.

Russia and India are next stops for Iran's economy minister; Madanizadeh calls economic diplomacy a tool against sanctions
Seyed Ali Madanizadeh, Iran's minister of economic affairs and finance, said on Sunday, 15 Shahrivar 1405 (6 September 2026), that he is traveling to Moscow and then to New Delhi to attend a meeting of BRICS finance and economy ministers. According to Donya-e-Eqtesad, he said the Russia trip is for bilateral economic talks and to follow up on previously coordinated memorandums and contracts, while the India trip is for wide ranging talks with BRICS economy ministers amid what he called an economic war against Iran. Madanizadeh described Russia as one of Iran's key partners in trade, investment, financial links and energy transport, and stressed the importance of developing north to south international corridors linking Russia to markets in India. He said the BRICS meeting will cover development financing, banking cooperation, trade facilitation and joint investment funds, and that the government's goal is to use its foreign relations to counter sanctions and strengthen the domestic economy.

Iran's Bank Working Hours Remain Unchanged Through End of Shahrivar
Alireza Gheytasi, secretary of Iran's Bank Coordination Council, said bank working hours for member banks will remain unchanged through the end of Shahrivar (late September 2026), in line with an extension of the Civil Service Management Organization's circular, according to Ecoiran, citing Bashgah Khabarnegaran Javan, published Sunday, September 6, 2026 (15 Shahrivar 1405). Under the current hours, banks will serve customers from 7am to 1pm through the end of the month, while bank staff will be present from 6:45am to 1:15pm.

Iranian Government Lifts Ban on Official Use of Non-Domestic Messaging Apps
According to Ecoiran, citing ISNA, Abbas Pazouki, communications and information deputy at the office of Iran's First Vice President, announced a decision by the special headquarters for organizing and steering cyberspace, chaired by First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, under which a years old ban on government agencies using non domestic messaging apps for official communication was lifted with the full consensus of the headquarters' members. Pazouki wrote that an earlier directive had barred state agencies from communicating on international platforms even as the public and media remained active on those same platforms. At the same meeting, the national Iranbum e government digital ecosystem plan was also discussed; Aref asked the communications ministry to identify and revise conflicting regulations so that government services become fully electronic and paperwork free by the end of the current administration's term.
