Privatization Chief: No Near-Term Plan to Allocate Justice Shares to Late Claimants
Zohreh Alipour, head of Iran's Privatization Organization, said there is currently no way to allocate justice shares (سهام عدالت) to so called left behind claimants, and that any new decision depends on a legal resolution and clarity on how many shares remain available for distribution, Fars News reported, as relayed by Khabaronline on Thursday, September 17, 2026 (Shahrivar 26, 1405). Under Article 2 of the 1401 (2022/2023) budget law, the government had been required to allocate justice shares, from its remaining stakes in companies such as Bank Saderat, Bank Mellat, Bank Tejarat, shipping lines, telecom and Persian Gulf petrochemical companies, to people covered by the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee, welfare agency clients and other eligible groups. Alipour said there has been no push since 1401 to reopen this opportunity to new claimants, and that her organization will take no allocation action until the government puts forward its own proposal.
