The last time the free dollar closed below two hundred thousand tomans was the twenty third of August. That day it was one hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred tomans; Saturday, twenty seven thousand more. Saturday, after reports of a tanker struck near Kharg Island, the dollar rose two point seven eight percent. That is its highest close in a year, well above the fifty day average.
