Global gold pulled further away from its recent seven month low today. The ounce rose about one and a half percent on Friday, July third. Gold reached four thousand one hundred eighty three dollars per ounce. That is still well below January's record of five thousand five hundred eighty nine dollars. Eighteen karat gold in Iran also rose, to about seventeen and a half million tomans. The main driver was a weak June jobs report, with just fifty seven thousand new jobs. That data lowered the odds of a Federal Reserve rate hike and weakened the dollar. At the same time the dollar index eased, and Iran's Emami coin premium widened. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh said the central bank is focused on delivering price stability. Gold swung sharply this past week, from a June twenty fourth low to this rally.
