At midday Friday, 16 Mordad 1405 (August 7, 2026), with the Tehran Stock Exchange closed for the week, global spot gold rose about 1.1% to $4,289 an ounce and silver jumped more than 3% to near $63.70, both ahead of the US July jobs report due at 16:00 Tehran time, which could sharpen the outlook for Fed rate policy. Brent crude traded near $83.40 as Strait of Hormuz tensions persisted.

Transcript

Today the global board has one clear winner, and it is silver, running ahead of gold. Spot silver jumped almost three and a half percent today to sixty three dollars and seventy cents. That move claws back some of the ground silver lost to gold over recent days. Spot gold also rose almost one percent today to four thousand two hundred eighty nine dollars. Meanwhile Brent crude rose, while bitcoin and ethereum both slipped slightly. Oil rose as Strait of Hor-mooz tensions persisted, and that same risk is lifting gold too. Yesterday teh-RAAN's main stock index jumped two and a half percent past five point four million points. At four pm teh-RAAN time today, the US jobs report will set the path for the hours ahead. This afternoon, watch the jobs report, teh-RAAN's exchange reopening, and the Hor-mooz talks. Gold, the dollar, bitcoin and teh-RAAN stocks are all sitting under the same headline today. Today's verdict is clear. Silver won, gold won too, but four pm could change everything. So today's answer: silver led. Which would you buy, gold or silver?
