Saturday midday, 27 Tir 1405 (18 July 2026): on the week's first session and its eighth straight down day, the Tehran bourse fell nearly 2.5% by around 11 a.m., the main index near 4,776,000 points. Meanwhile the agreed dollar (the official rate) entered the 150,000-toman channel for the first time (150,237 toman), toman Tether stood at 194,581, and spot gold held above 4,000 dollars, on the day Iran's delegation sat at the Oman table over the Strait of Hormuz.

Everyone was watching the dollar's record, but today it was the stock market that made the news. By midday Saturday, the main index fell about two and a half percent, to around four point eight million points. This is the market's eighth straight losing day, even as the dollar sets fresh records in the parallel market. Today's drop was near one hundred eighteen thousand points, one of the heaviest in recent weeks. The Farabourse index also fell about two percent, to thirty seven thousand four hundred ninety points. Selling was heaviest in banking, auto, metals, chemical and refining names, and real money kept flowing out. The agreed dollar hit about one hundred fifty thousand toman, and Tether stood near one hundred ninety four thousand. The agreed dollar entered the one hundred fifty thousand toman channel for the first time, a fresh record. Gold traded near eighteen and a half million toman a gram, and the Emami coin near one hundred eighty five million. Global spot gold held above the four thousand dollar line, around four thousand and fifteen dollars. In crypto, Bitcoin was near sixty four thousand dollars and Ethereum near one thousand eight hundred, little changed. Globally, Brent crude was near eighty eight dollars and the dollar index around one hundred point seven. All of this coincides with the Oman table, where a two corridor plan for Hormuz shipping is under review in Muscat. In steel, ex factory rebar is around sixty six to sixty eight thousand toman, while the auto market stays in wait mode. Cement and building materials track energy costs and the seasonal cycle more than daily currency swings. For the rest of the day, watch the Oman meeting, the bourse's close, and gold's hold above four thousand dollars.
