By about 11:00am Tehran on Tuesday, 20 Mordad 1405 (August 11, 2026), Tehran's TEDPIX index rose 1.57% (up 88,618 points) to top 5.742 million, a second straight record session. Brent crude extended its recent rally past $89 as fresh Houthi missile strikes on Yemen and a drone attack on Libya's Zawiya refinery revived the Strait of Hormuz risk premium.

Transcript

TEDPIX topped five million seven hundred forty two thousand points today, a second straight record. That is a gain of about one and a half percent from yesterday's close, itself a fresh record. The equal weight index rose about one point two percent, and Farabourse gained too, a separate market. Retail money flowed into refining and metals shares, nearly thirteen billion shares net buying yesterday. Tehran's metals index jumped nearly seven percent yesterday to a record high. This rally lines up with Brent crude's own climb, as the Strait of Hormuz risk premium has come back. If Hormuz tensions continue, refiners stay the main winners, but calming news could drain that premium fast. Brent crude reached eighty nine dollars and seventeen cents today, up about one and six tenths percent. Meanwhile the free market dollar fell for a fifth straight day, closing near one eighty five thousand toman. Bitcoin is quiet today, tether ticked up, and gold eased back after briefly touching forty four hundred dollars. Iran's car market finally followed the dollar lower today, with most models getting cheaper. Watch the dollar's final print, refiners' reaction to oil above eighty nine dollars, and today's commodity offering. Today's verdict: the bourse and oil both set records, but retail money is still chasing refiners, not the broad market. So the answer to that first question, both the bourse and oil hit records today, how long can that last.
