Iran's gold funds were worth about four hundred trillion tomans in late twenty twenty five. On Wednesday, the twenty ninth of July, Iran's gold market produced two very different numbers. Net asset value reached six hundred seventy trillion tomans in the week ending the seventeenth of July. That is close to sixty eight percent growth in roughly seven months. Today's board, the twenty ninth of July twenty twenty six, makes the difference obvious. The Emami coin premium grew more than sixty five percent in a single day. Yesterday it was three million tomans; today nearly two million tomans were added. Fund units are issued against coin and bullion deposit certificates, so their gap stays narrower. One coin costs about one hundred eighty eight million tomans; one fund unit, about one hundred thirty two thousand. The fund removes three old costs: storage, authenticity, and haggling with a jeweller. But gold price risk, the unit premium, and management fees all stay exactly where they were. On Sunday the twenty sixth of July, a falling dollar closed most gold funds negative. No official national figure for the number of fund unit holders is available. The fund buyer stepped away from premium volatility, not from gold volatility. So the answer: the money that moved escaped the premium, not gold itself. Full analysis on Sahmino.com.
