Transcript
Today, in this short lesson, we learn what Sejam is and how the trading code gets issued. In this lesson we walk through Sejam registration and the trading code, step by step. Without these two steps, no trade on the Tehran Stock Exchange is possible. Sejam is the Comprehensive Customer Information System, registering your identity once for the whole capital market. The trading code, three letters and five digits, is the actual permit for every trade. First, you register on the official Sejam website and pay the online registration fee. Then you fill in identity, contact, and financial information, and get a tracking code. Next you verify your identity, either in person or remotely with a short selfie video. Remember these three numbers: the registration fee, the verification deadline, and the trading code wait. Suppose Sara registers with Sejam on Saturday and finishes remote verification the same day. On Monday she signs the brokerage contract, and Wednesday morning her trading code arrives. In Iran, Sejam is not just for stocks; mutual funds and the commodity exchange need it too. The list of licensed brokerages comes from the regulator; compare fees and the trading app. A mobile number not registered under your own name gets your Sejam application rejected. Do not confuse the Sejam tracking code with the trading code; they are not the same thing. So, Sejam registers your identity, and the trading code is the real permit to trade.
