Suddenly, everything changed. Tehran's TEDPIX set a fresh record on Saturday, August twenty ninth. The index jumped two point oh three percent to six million five hundred sixteen thousand points. More than two hundred twenty four stocks gained over two percent that day, a broad based rally. This is the fifth straight winning session, up nearly seven and a half percent in five sessions. Retail investors bought over five and a half billion shares more than they sold on Saturday. Isfahan Oil Refining and Bank Mellat led Saturday's most heavily traded stocks on the bourse. Retail investors led buying in Kachad and Shepdis, but institutions bought into Iran Khodro and Shasta. Retail buying share was forty three and a half percent in Kachad, but negative nine point four in Khodro. Meanwhile the free dollar slipped back toward two hundred thousand tomans and gold fell three percent. Watch whether trading value holds above forty trillion tomans in the sessions ahead. If retail money returns to the big names too, this rally could broaden even further. The bottom line: Saturday's record rests on calm currency and gold markets and broad buying.
