GENIUS Act stablecoin rules finalization deadline

Under the US GENIUS Act, six federal regulators (OCC, FDIC, NCUA, Treasury, FinCEN and OFAC) were required to finalize rules for dollar backed stablecoin issuers by 18 July 2026, a framework that could affect regulatory clarity for stablecoins such as USDT used in informal Iranian currency trading. By the deadline none had issued final rules; only proposed rules were published, pushing finalization toward late 2026 or early 2027.

Wind-down deadline for revoked Iran oil General License X

OFAC issued General License X1 on July 7, 2026, revoking General License X (issued June 22, 2026), which had temporarily authorized production, transport and sale of Iranian-origin crude oil, petrochemical and petroleum products. Under GL X1, only wind-down of previously authorized transactions is permitted through 12:01 a.m. EDT on July 17, 2026, after which no new transactions under the prior license are authorized.

US Producer Price Index (PPI) - June 2026 data

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics released the June 2026 Producer Price Index (PPI) on July 15 (24 Tir 1405); alongside the CPI it is a main gauge of inflationary pressure and a key input to Fed policy expectations. US CPI report - June 2026 data

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics released the June 2026 Consumer Price Index. Annual inflation eased to 3.5% (from 4.2% the prior month and below the 3.8% forecast), with the index down 0.4% on the month, largely on falling energy prices; core inflation (excluding food and energy) ran at 2.6% year over year and was flat on the month. Fed Chair Warsh's semiannual monetary policy testimony to Congress (July 2026)

Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh delivered the semiannual monetary policy report to Congress, appearing before the House Financial Services Committee on July 14, 2026 (23 Tir 1405) and the Senate Banking Committee on July 15. Warsh reaffirmed the Fed's commitment to its 2% inflation goal, called the recent improvement in inflation not yet complete, and gave few clues on the rate path, with the federal funds target range held at 3.50%-3.75%. US Employment Situation report - June 2026 data

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics released the Employment Situation report for June 2026 data on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Nonfarm payrolls rose by just 57,000, below the roughly 115,000 consensus forecast, the unemployment rate rose to 4.2%, and average hourly earnings increased 0.3% month over month to $37.64.
