Strait of Hormuz traffic stays below 10 ships a day, with only seven transits recorded on Sunday

Data from ship tracking firm Kpler show that traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remained at a low level at the start of this week, with fewer than 10 ships carrying essential goods passing through the strategic waterway each day, despite the halt in attacks between Iran and the United States.
According to the figures, only seven ships transited the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, 26 July 2026, three of them tankers carrying Iran-related petroleum products. On Friday, likewise, only seven ships passed through the strait, most of them leaving the Persian Gulf. Over the same period, traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb strait fell to its lowest level in months, with just 11 ships carrying essential goods passing through on Sunday.
Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had earlier said that several rounds of Iran-Oman talks were held on Friday and Saturday at deputy foreign minister level in Tehran, during which the two sides exchanged views on common principles and operational mechanisms for managing safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz while respecting the sovereign rights of the two coastal states.

FBI Reports Cyberattacks on Two Tankers in US Waters

Georgia to Halt Iranian Airline Flights From September 20
