Bitcoin traded around $79,650 today, Thursday, August 27, 2026, per CoinGecko, ArzDigital and TradingEconomics. The world's largest cryptocurrency is having its best monthly performance in over a year, but it remains clearly below its October 2025 all-time record. The main driver has been the US Treasury's August 19 decision to roughly double its long-dated bond buybacks.

Transcript

Bitcoin reached seventy nine thousand six hundred fifty dollars Thursday, its best month in a year. Bitcoin's live price, per CoinGecko, is near eighty thousand dollars, up one point four percent in a day. This is not a fresh record, just Bitcoin's best rebound in more than a year. Bitcoin's old record was one hundred twenty six thousand and eighty dollars, set in October twenty twenty five. The main driver behind this jump was a decision by the US Treasury, not crypto specific news. The US Treasury nearly doubled its long term bond buybacks. At the same time, over four billion dollars in short positions were squeezed, and fresh money entered the funds. Bitcoin's Relative Strength Index reached eighty three, a sign of overbought conditions. What follows reflects outside analysts' views, not a forecast from Sahmino. If Bitcoin breaks above eighty two thousand eight hundred fifty dollars, the upside path stays open. CoinGecko, ArzDigital and TradingEconomics all logged a price near seventy nine thousand dollars. Bitcoin's dollar jump does not mean a new record; the risk of a short term pullback is still real. Watch the resistance level, the pace of ETF inflows, and the buyback program starting September ninth. Full story on Sahmino dot com.
