The Emami gold coin's premium reached about 7,091,000 tomans in its latest weekly reading (Sunday, July 5, 2026), up 6.85% week on week. That happened even as global gold fell about $49 (1.2%) from $4,165 to $4,116 on Tuesday night after the Strait of Hormuz attack pushed the Fed toward a more hawkish tone.

Iran's Emami coin premium rose six point eight five percent this week. The premium reached about seven million and ninety one thousand tomans. That is up six point eight five percent from the week before. The prior week, the premium had jumped forty four percent in one week. Even so, it remains well below where it stood three months ago. Global gold, meanwhile, moved in the opposite direction that same night. Gold fell nearly forty nine dollars, down to four thousand one hundred sixteen. A more hawkish Federal Reserve and higher real yields drove that drop. Brent crude topped seventy six dollars after the Strait of Hormuz attack. Brent rose five point six percent while the free market dollar held steady. Iran's coin premium mainly reflects a supply and demand imbalance. The Central Bank uses periodic coin auctions to try to curb it. This trend directly shapes household decisions about buying coins. The currency market's full reaction to the Hormuz crisis is still pending. Read the full analysis on Sahmino.
