Another 73.4 Trillion Tomans Paid to Wheat Farmers, Taking the Total to 348.4 Trillion

Hassan Nowruzi, head of Iran's Targeted Subsidies Organization, said another 73.4 trillion tomans owed to wheat farmers under the guaranteed purchase scheme was deposited to their accounts on Saturday, 26 September 2026 (4 Mehr 1405). He said total payments to wheat farmers stood at 275 trillion tomans before this round and have now reached 348.4 trillion tomans.
With this round, farmers who delivered wheat to guaranteed purchase centres from the start of the season through 29 June 2026 (8 Tir 1405) have now received 95 percent of what they are owed, those who delivered between 30 June and 10 August (9 Tir to 19 Mordad) 82 percent, and those who delivered between 11 August and 12 September (20 Mordad to 21 Shahrivar) 30 percent. Nowruzi said the remaining payments will follow as funds are secured and allocated.

Mining Exploration Licence Applications Reopen in Three Provinces
Vajihollah Jafari, deputy minister for mines and mining industries at Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, said on Saturday, 26 September 2026 (4 Mehr 1405), that applications for mining exploration licences have resumed on the new platform of the "Cadastre" system, as a pilot in the provinces of Razavi Khorasan, Sistan and Baluchestan, and North Khorasan. He said the process will be rolled out nationwide once the pilot has been completed and evaluated, so that exploration applications are filed and processed through the new system. Jafari said the step is part of the mining sector's strategic plan to organize its digital infrastructure and improve transparency.

Power Industry Spokesman: Rooftop Solar Capacity Reaches 650 Megawatts
Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, deputy energy minister and spokesman for Iran's power industry, said on Saturday, 26 September 2026 (4 Mehr 1405), that rooftop solar capacity has grown from 170 megawatts at the start of the current (14th) government to 650 megawatts, against a target of 5,000 megawatts for these small plants. He said total renewable capacity has risen from 1,250 megawatts at the start of the government to more than 6,000 megawatts, with a plan to reach 12,000 megawatts by the end of the current Iranian year. Rajabi Mashhadi said new rules on aggregators let small producers sell their output on the Iran Energy Exchange's green electricity board. He estimated the cost of building a 5-kilowatt plant at about 350 to 450 million tomans, assuming at most 90 million tomans per kilowatt, and said loans cover up to 80 percent of construction costs.

Water Productivity Market Bylaw Clears a Government Subcommittee, Giving Water Savings a Financial Value
Isa Bozorgzadeh, spokesman for Iran's water industry, said on Saturday, September 26, 2026 that the bylaw for a water productivity market was approved last week by the government's planning and budget subcommittee and now goes to the main committee and then the full cabinet. He said the process is expected to take about a month. Under the scheme, any citizen, industrial user or farmer who cuts water use or raises water productivity in a way that can be proven and verified could receive a financial benefit in return. Bozorgzadeh said the aim is for water-saving measures to carry economic value on top of their effect on water resources.
