Transcript
The gap between Iran's two dollar rates opened two thousand two hundred and eight tomans wider. The free rate rose one point one eight percent; the official rate only three tenths. Monday's picture was not uniform: shares and gold fell, while the dollar climbed higher. But here is the session's real number: rising industry indices fell from thirty six to eleven. Individual investors left the Tehran exchange and stayed buyers on the Farabourse. Four of the previous day's record breakers opened lower; Mobarakeh Steel went the other way. A few giants build the main index, but mid sized names build your own portfolio. In the gold market, the eighteen karat gram fell one hundred and ninety three thousand tomans. Neither the dollar nor the ounce explains that fall; about one point two points was premium. The labour minister announced installment gold purchases at a locked price for retirees. On the Mercantile Exchange, ten and a half million coin forward units traded in two days. The biggest overnight move came from crypto: bitcoin down two point two nine percent. Today's verdict: yesterday was a day about market breadth, not about the index. Our reading yesterday broke. The new one: the gap stays above sixty thousand tomans. Does it widen or close?
