Transcript

September fourth was the last day Tehran's main index closed red; seven sessions have passed since then. Yesterday's board had only a few rows that moved: stocks up, the dollar, gold and coin down. Seven sessions, seven consecutive records, and every close higher than the one before it. Across those seven sessions the index went from six and a half to seven point four million points. The other side of Saturday's trade: retail investors were net buyers of about five billion shares. But the heaviest turnover was not equities; the top four symbols were all government debt paper. And here is the day's important number: advancing symbols fell from eighty nine to seventy six percent. The ceiling setters were the heavyweights: Fameli, Foulad, Shapna, Khodro, Dara Yekom and Palayesh. In currency, the free rate and the remittance rate converged by three point seven points. This morning's driver is oil: Brent three percent higher, at one hundred and seven dollars. Rebar has two prices: the exchange settlement from September ninth, and a mill rate four percent above it. Gold and coin came down, bitcoin rose a little and Tether eased slightly. Today's verdict: it was the average share's day, not the index's; measure a record by participation. The answer to the opening question: September fourth. Our reading: equal weight holds above two million this week.
