Bahman Motor, the passenger-car maker under the Bahman Group (گروه بهمن), is running an auction sale of five of its own models from Saturday, August 22, 2026 (31 Mordad 1405) through Wednesday, August 26, 2026 (4 Shahrivar 1405), per its official announcement. The Mazda3, Shuval 6, Respect Prime, Fidelity Elite and Fidelity Prestige will be sold only through the company's own platform, auction.bahman.ir, according to Donya-e-Eqtesad and Ecoiran, citing Mehr News Agency (Monday, August 17, 2026 / 26 Mordad 1405). The auction runs while the company's own Tehran Stock Exchange ticker, BHMN (نماد خبهمن), is up nearly 90 percent over the past year and closed 2.02 percent lower than the previous session on Wednesday this week.

Background

This is Bahman Motor's second unusual sales move in under a month. Earlier, in a notice published Sunday, August 2, 2026 (11 Mordad 1405), the company opened sales of two models, Fidelity Elite Type 2 and Respect 2, at a fixed price with no lottery, departing from its usual registration-based sales. Then on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 (7 Mordad 1405), it issued payment-completion notices for winners of that same plan across three applicant groups, at a fixed price of 5.08 billion tomans for the Fidelity Elite Type 2 and 3.83 billion tomans for the Respect 2. Opening an online auction for five more models is the next step in the same approach: instead of a lottery or a fixed price, competing bids on the platform will set the final price this time.

The auction, in numbers

Per Bahman Motor's official notice, the cars on offer can be viewed from 8am to 1pm at the company's auction warehouse in Tehran, at kilometer 17 of the Shahid Motevaselian (Fath) highway. Bids and deposits are submitted only through auction.bahman.ir; that window is open from 8am Saturday, August 22 to 6pm Wednesday, August 26, and the winners' final payments will also go through the same platform. Per Donya-e-Eqtesad, base prices in this kind of auction are typically set below the open market to give bidders a better shot at a fair deal; each model's base price is disclosed only once an applicant logs into the platform and was not published in the public notice.

What is driving this

Rather than a lottery or a fixed price, the auction serves two goals at once: turning warehouse inventory into cash faster, and finding a price closer to real demand for models that may not draw enough applicants under the company's ordinary sales plans. The official notice stresses that every step runs only through auction.bahman.ir to prevent any abuse in bidding and deposits, a line that suggests lingering concern over middlemen and unofficial resale in the company's earlier sales plans.

The auction comes while the company's own listed stock, BHMN (نماد خبهمن), has been one of the more actively traded names in the Tehran Stock Exchange's auto and parts sector. Per Sahmino's own data, BHMN's closing price reached 2,380 rials on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (28 Mordad 1405), 2.02 percent below the prior session's close, having opened 2.8 percent below that same close. The stock hit its 52-week high of 2,480 rials on Monday, August 17 (26 Mordad), and now sits about 4 percent below that peak. Its one-year return through that date was close to 90 percent, while its P/E ratio, based on trailing-twelve-month earnings per share of 560 rials, sits around 4.3. On Sahmino's own composite score, an internal metric rather than an official exchange figure, BHMN ranks first among the 53 names in the auto and parts sector with a score of 78 out of 100. Over the five trading sessions through August 19, retail investors were net buyers of roughly 466 billion rials of the stock in total, though the daily pattern was uneven, with net retail selling in the final two of those sessions.

Outlook

No auction results have been announced yet, since bidding only opens tomorrow, Saturday, August 22; winning prices will only be known after next Wednesday's deadline closes. If competitive bidding pushes the final price of these five models meaningfully above the base price, that would point to pent-up demand for these specific models; conversely, weak bidding would suggest the market is already saturated for them. This is an estimate, not a firm forecast, and depends on data that will only exist once the auction ends. BHMN's share price is a separate story: this week's dip follows a nearly 90 percent one-year rally and is not, on its own, a sign of a longer-term reversal.

Bottom line

Instead of a lottery or a fixed price, Bahman Motor is auctioning five of its passenger models online, open from Saturday, August 22 through Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The notable part is that this sale is running at the same time as the company's own listed stock, BHMN, trades near its 52-week high after a nearly 90 percent one-year rally, just a few percent below that peak; two different stories about the same company, one from the car lot, the other from the exchange floor.

What to watch

The auction's final results once the platform closes at 6pm Wednesday, August 26, and how far the winning bids land from the base prices. Separately, how BHMN trades in the coming sessions, and whether Wednesday's 2.02 percent drop is the start of a pullback from the 52-week high or just a pause in the uptrend.
