Iran Market Pulse: Monday Midday, July 27, 2026; Brent Sinks 6.6% While Tehran Stocks Give Back 16,000 Points From the Opening High
By 11am on Monday, 5 Mordad 1405 (27 July 2026), the biggest number of the day was not printed in Tehran: Brent crude fell 6.64% to $90.75 a barrel, while spot gold rose 1.26% to $4,103.88. The Tehran Stock Exchange opened with a 59,931 point jump to 5,062,261, then slid back to 5,045,979 by 11:05, leaving it 16,282 points below the day's high.
Transcript
Everyone was watching the five million point index today, but the real number printed elsewhere. By eleven this morning, Brent crude fell six dollars to ninety dollars and seventy five cents. The reason is simple: the mutual pause in strikes pulled supply loss risk out of the price. In Tehran, the main index had its best moment in the first second of the open, then gave ground. By five past eleven, the index sat sixteen thousand points below its opening high. In the same hour, spot gold rose one point two six percent and cleared four thousand one hundred dollars. So one story pushed oil down and gold up; gold's driver today was a weak dollar, not war. Cheap oil cuts both ways for Iran: less export revenue, but less inflation pressure. At home, the latest recorded free market dollar rate is one hundred eighty six thousand five hundred tomans. The gap between the free rate and the Exchange Center rate is still about twenty three percent. Bitcoin also rose one point two percent; the same weak dollar was working there too. This afternoon, watch for a close above five million and the direction of retail money. The verdict today is clear: this was oil's day, not the bourse's. So here is the answer: the number nobody watched today was oil. Full report on Sahmino.com.
