One number slipped past everyone today, the one the headlines missed but that turned first. Let us start right there. Saturday had three losers and one winner. The winner was equities. Tether reached about one hundred eighty six thousand eight hundred toman, down roughly two percent. That puts Tether nearly two thousand nine hundred toman cheaper than the banknote dollar. Gold, coin, Tether and the dollar all retreated together in a single day. Against that, the Tehran stock index posted its third straight positive session. Now to the day's main loser, the gold and coin market. Spot gold barely moved, yet domestic gold fell three point three percent. The ounce contributed about one percent, the dollar one point eight, the rest a premium. At the same time the interbank rate climbed to twenty three point nine seven percent. This currency swing feeds through to steel, cars, building materials and equities. Watch four things today to see where the rest of the week goes. Today's verdict is simple. The rial got dearer. Gold did not get cheaper. So back to that first number: Tether turned first. Full analysis on Sahmino.com.
