As of 11:08 on Tuesday, 6 Mordad 1405 (28 July 2026), the Tehran Stock Exchange's main index stands at 5,101,790 points, up 49,722 points (0.98%). But the real story lies elsewhere: the market opened at 09:05 at 5,094,120, meaning nearly 85% of today's gain was booked before a single share changed hands, and only 7,670 points have been added since. The equal-weight index is outpacing the main index at 1.18%, Bitcoin is down 2.23%, and Brent crude is in its third consecutive losing session.

Today's market had one clear winner and one clear loser. Stocks rose, Bitcoin fell. Tehran's main index reached five million one hundred and one thousand points by eleven oh eight. But here is today's real story: eighty five percent of that gain happened at the nine o'clock open. The board is green across all three of Tehran's main equity indices today. The equal weight index rose one point one eight percent, moving ahead of the main index. Look at today's gain from three angles: its shape, its breadth, and its distance from the peak. Despite the rally, the market still sits four point three one percent below its eighth of July high. In global markets today all three major assets are red: gold, Bitcoin and Brent crude. Domestic gold did not follow the ounce down, because the dollar rate edged higher at the same time. Rebar fell one thousand and ninety tomans per kilogram today, uniformly across all three sizes. Brent crude posted a third consecutive losing session, retreating to around eighty six dollars. Three things matter this afternoon: the gold auction, the close, and tomorrow's Federal Reserve decision. Today's verdict is clear. Stocks won, but they won it before the opening bell. So stocks won today, still below the July peak. Does the rally hold to the weekend?
