On Monday, 5 Mordad 1405 (27 July 2026), everyone watched the dollar, which rose 0.8%. The number that actually jumped was the Emami coin premium: up 32.73% in one day to 4,745,000 tomans, on a night when spot gold fell 0.81%. Gold rose 1.85% a gram, the Emami coin 2.21%, TEDPIX closed 49,738 points higher at 5,052,068, and bitcoin shed 2.65% ahead of the Fed. Today at 14:00 Tehran time the gold bullion auction is held.

Everyone was watching the dollar yesterday, but the number that really jumped was somewhere else entirely. The Emami coin premium widened thirty two point seven percent in a single day. The coin outran the gold inside it by one million one hundred seventy thousand tomans. And it was not just the Emami; half, quarter and gram coin premiums all widened too. Here is the strange part: that same night, spot gold fell eight tenths of a percent. Look at the board. Gold and the coin climbed; the dollar only eight tenths of a percent. The bourse logged a fourth green session and held above five million points. But crypto had a rough night, with both Bitcoin and Ethereum falling. The reason is the Federal Reserve meeting and money leaving bitcoin funds. Three scenarios are on the table tomorrow night, each one moving gold differently. In South Korea the KOSPI crashed eight percent and trading was halted. That chip selloff drained global risk appetite, and it reached gold and crypto too. Watch four things today; the biggest is the gold bullion auction at two in the afternoon. Yesterday's verdict is clear: it belonged to the coin, not the dollar. The answer: the coin premium jumped, not the dollar. Will today's auction deflate it?
